Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.
Wanted to share with you all a story from 2 Kings 6:8-17! It’s one I have heard before, but with everything going on in our world right now, it’s an important one to remember.
First, let’s start with Eph 6:12-
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Every. Fight. Is spiritual.
In the story of 2 Kings 6, the Prophet Elijah was asleep in a tent.
His servant “arose early and went out. There was an army surrounding the city with horses and chariots.”
The servant asked Elijah (probably PANICKED for good reason) “what do we do????”
Ready for Elijah’s response? I love this:
“Do not fear. For those who are with us (God) are more than those who are with them (Satan).”
Here’s what Elijah says next in prayer- this CRACKS ME UP!
“Lord, open his eyes so he may see.” (Speaking about the servant) -I just love how nonchalant he is about this!
Like he’s saying “brother you don’t see the whole picture.”
All of a sudden it says
“the Lord opened his eyes of the young man, and he saw.
And behold; the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire ALL AROUND ELIJAH!”
So here’s the moral of the story. 2 things:
1. We do not wrestle with flesh and blood. Everything is spiritual. Everything. How do we fight? PRAYER warfare! The prayers of the righteous have POWER.
There are MORE WITH US THAN THERE ARE WITH “THEM”. God always wins. But we cannot just lay down and take it. Use your authority.
2. Pray that God gives you eyes to see and ears to hear. We are living in extremely spiritual times and if you can’t see it already, pray that you can so you won’t be deceived.
Ask God to give you spiritual eyes to see and ears to hear.
And lastly- there is no reason to fear. Ever. At all!
Unless you’re not on Gods side- then, yes you should fear. Just sayin’! 😂
